I see you're already chosen the F5-a very good, very capable camera. AF, Metering, ergonomics, custom programing, the list goes on.

I have both, and the F6 is much better in nearly every respect. Mark, you might have a look at the F mount Zeiss 85/1.4 if you're looking at a lens in that price point. D3 is the digital cousin of the F6 and feels just the same. Also thinking about getting the 85mm f1.4. The F5 is just under £300, whereas the F6 is just shy of £1,000. I will be getting a D3 sometime soon, so have to be careful with funds. it's a massive camera on its own, and I found I don't really need it. you can take it off when you don't need it, unlike the F5, it's 'stuck on' permanently. I didn't even think about the grip, totally forgot about it, but I guess that's another plus for the F6. Apple Annie? Makes the decision for an F6 even easier, as it does more! Uber Sexy !!! :) Sexy is as sexy does! So I suppose the F6 is Barbie. The F6 looks sexier than the F5 but I would have to buy a grip for vertical shooting. But I have always wanted an F5 and now have the funds, not worth px-ing the F100 as it is almost worthless, and I wouldn't want to get rid anyhow, I love it. Nothing wrong with F100, it is still an absolutely fab camera. Sorry for being thick but no sure what N.A.S. Until the time comes when I decide to jump off the fence and go for an F6, I'm happy with my other Nikon film bodies, to include a F100 just acquired yesterday.

but I'd choose the F6 over a F5 based on build alone (the F5 is a concrete block, IMO), not to mention it's much better. to keep up with news, opinions, the pool, etc. I don't have a F6, but someday I might like to have one, which is why I'm in this group.

Other than a possible case of N.A.S., what's wrong with your F100? :) In my opinion F6 is the best camera Nikon has ever made, ergonomically. There are vast improvement over the F5 on the F6. The F6 is three times the price of the F5 - what do I do?!!!Īny of you shutterbugs moved from the F5 to the F6, any and all comments gratefully received.į6 and you will not look back.
